Unnamed #47
Unnamed #47 pattern by Carrie G. Stevens, dressed by Peter Simonson
Pattern Note: Specimen at Lang’s Auction site notes, “Tied by the Upper Dam legend Carrie Stevens (1882-1970), and fished by her sister Elizabeth Duley (1879-1960), an important early Maine tyer in her own right. Featuring the famous tyer's signature black/red/black striped head, this early fly is dressed in a custom pattern of Stevens' design, with use wear and missing the jungle cock feather on the right side. Still a decent example in a rare pattern with great provenance, originating from the Duley family.”
