Lil’s Choice
Lil’s Choice, pattern by Carrie G. Stevens, dressed by Peter Simonson
Pattern Note: This Carrie Stevens fly was found (unnamed) in a private collection. It was named by Martin Keane of Stockbridge, Massachusetts, as his wife's favorite unnamed fly. The wing is purple and light olive hackles. The original had dyed red and black Duck breast for shoulders.
In Forgotten Flies (Schmookler/Sils, p366, #78) this is tied as shown, however in the pattern description, the hackles are described as light purple and light olive. Further a lighter pattern is annotated with the same name on p 333. Similar to Unnamed #28, which is the lighter pattern.
